Catania Fontanarossa (CTA) is the closest and most convenient airport from and to Giardini-Naxos. It is located at about 55 km (35 miles) from Giardini-Naxos. It is connected by direct flights to the major Italian cities such as Milan, Rome, Naples and Venice and to many European and international cities. A bus bus is available every hour from Catania airport to Taormina and it stops at Giardini-Naxos. The bus stop “Recanati” is your destination. Tickets can be purchased at the airport desks. The journey time is approximately one hour. Taxi service is also available. It costs approximately 110 Euros or you can hire a car at the parking lot in front of the airport. All the best rental companies are there (Avis, Hertz, Maggiore, Auto Europa, SIXT).
Taormina railway station is considered one of the most beautiful in Italy, thanks to its elegant Sicilian liberty style. Every train that arrives from northern Italy stops there.
